FAQ & Tips

Everything about Mingle — the free, AI-native way to send invitations and track RSVPs.

The basics

What is Mingle?

A free app to send beautiful event invitations and track RSVPs. Bring your own invitation card, add your guests, and send. Guests RSVP for themselves and their plus-ones, and you watch the headcount update live.

Is it really free?

Yes — everything is free, forever. No premium tier, no credits or coins, no per-guest charges, no ads.

Do my guests need an account or app?

No. Each guest gets a personal link; they tap it, see your invite, and RSVP. Nothing to install.

Do I need an account?

Yes, hosts sign up (email + a one-time code, or Google). It's quick and free.

Your invitation card

Where do I get the card image?

Anywhere — design it in Canva, use a photo, or generate one with AI. Mingle has no templates; the card is whatever image you upload.

Can I change the card later?

Yes — edit the event any time, including swapping the card.

Adding guests

How do I add guests?

Three ways: paste a list, pick from your saved contacts, or import from your phone's contacts.

What formats can I paste?

Almost anything — one entry per line. All of these work:

alex@example.com
Jordan <jordan@example.com>
Carolyn Bargliotti — (925) 464-8023
Bonnie 415 652 0514
+1 555 123 4567

Mingle auto-detects the email or phone and keeps the rest as the name — any separator, name before or after. After adding, it tells you what it added and any lines it couldn't read.

Do contacts get saved?

Yes — everyone you invite is saved to your personal contact book, so next time you just search and tap to re-add them.

Sending invites

How are invites sent?

Email guests are emailed automatically (free) in one click. Phone guests are sent by a one-tap Text/Share from your own phone (opens Messages/WhatsApp with the invite ready) — no SMS fees, no number to register.

Can I resend to people who haven't replied?

Yes — resend to non-responders, or any individual, any time.

RSVPs & tracking

What can guests respond?

Yes / Maybe / No, how many extra guests they're bringing (you set the cap), and an optional note to you.

What do I see as the host?

A live dashboard: who's coming, maybe, declined, or pending; total headcount with plus-ones; and who viewed the invite and when they replied. You even get a “viewed but hasn't replied” nudge list.

Reminders and timezones?

Set an automatic reminder N days before, and get notified by email on every reply. The event's timezone is detected from its address, so everyone sees the correct local time.

Using Mingle with AI

Option A — Connect AI directly (MCP)

Connect Mingle to Claude (and other MCP assistants) and just ask. It can create/update events, manage guests & contacts, send email invites, set the card image, and return a visual RSVP summary.

Set it up: Account → Connect AI (MCP) → copy the server URL → in Claude, Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the URL → sign in and approve. (Secure OAuth — no token to copy. Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan.)

Then say things like: “Create a holiday party on Dec 20 at 6 PM at [address] and use this image as the card,” “Email everyone who hasn't been sent,” or “Give me a summary of who's coming.”

Option B — Use any AI (e.g. ChatGPT) to prep, then paste

No connector needed. Use any AI to do the tedious part, then paste into Mingle's guest box. Turn messy notes into a clean list with a prompt like:

Format the following into one guest per line as "Name <email>"
(or "Name — phone" if no email). Output only the list:
[paste your messy contacts / spreadsheet / texts here]

Copy the result and paste it into Mingle's Add guests box — it parses the whole list at once. You can also ask AI to write the invitation description or generate the card image.

Account & privacy

Can I manage my contacts?

Yes — Account → Contacts: add, edit, or delete people in your address book. It's auto-built from past guests and reused on new invites.

Is my data private?

Yes. No ads, and we never sell your data or your guests' contacts. Each host only sees their own events.

Can I add Mingle to my Home Screen?

Yes — open the site, Share → Add to Home Screen. It launches like an app.

Ready to send your first invite?

It's free — bring your card and your guest list.
